Hello Everyone! I have a problem...
A couple of month ago, i bought a new PC:
CPU: I5-6500 3.2ghz (turbo boost is ON)
GPU: STRIX GTX 1060 6 gb
RAM: 16 gb Corsair vengeance lpx 2133 mhz
MOBO: Asus H110M-K
PSU: DeepCool DQ ST 750W
HDD: 1 tb WD Blue
Win 10 x64 Home
I got very good 60+ FPS in GTA V, DOOM, SKYRIM SE, WITCHER 3, even the beta Quake Champions runs smooth 120 FPS!

But! DOTA2 runs awful!
in dota i can`t get even the stable 60 fps, sometimes it drops under 40.

I tried almost everything! Update drivers, re-instal drivers, re-install steam and games, everything sets on maximum performance, v sync is off, xbox dvr is off.
Using nvidia inspector helps me a bit, but still cant get stable fps

No overheating, no viruses, no cpu bottleneck (on youtube tons of videos, where i5 6500 and gtx 1060 get stable 120+ in dota 2)

I`m trying to solve this problem for the two month and nothing, please, guys, help me if you can...
(if you guys need screenshots of the gpu and cpu z and etc, i will upload it later when i will come home)

What are the usages for GPU and CPU while running Dota 2?

In the meantime I have couple of things to try for you:
1. Turn off Sharing in geforce experience(or uninstall geforce experience completely...),
2. Run Dota 2 and open up task manager > Details tab > find Dota2.exe > right click > set priority above normal/high,
3. In Dota 2 settings look for rendering scale or resolution scale - if you find such setting decrease it and also just look through the settings to maybe see something un-usual (I'm not sure what settings does Dota 2 provide so cant suggest more),
4. Repair (re-install if repair not available) the game through steam etc.

Thank you for your answer!
CPU is 90-100%
GPU 44%
1. I unistal gforce exp when i first update my drivers.
2. Dota 2 is always have high priority.
3. I play at 1080p ultra settings, render scale at 100%
4. Already did it several times..still got the problem...

Woahh~
That sounds like you are having background programs eating at your CPU.

That's common with most fresh OS installs or new pcs.
My suggestion is to go in Start - Search - services.msc and make sure that Background Inteligence Transfer Services and Superfetch are Disable! as well as go into msconfig - Services - and uncheck Windows Event Log and Windows Event Collector.

Afterwards restart your pc, and then go back into services.msc and double check that said Services are still disabled.
If they are then have fun gaming... hopefully...Aghhh I dont know!

Hope It helped!

Also, if it may help to find the solution, when i play dota, usually my gpu clock are stable 1506 which is i think really low result!
In GTA and etc i have about 2060 GPU clock.

Maybe someone knows how to make dota use my full GPU power?

The issue here is for sure on the CPU's side as it shouldn't be working in 90-100% in Dota 2... where for a GPU its quite normal to run on lower clock if its not needed.

If you want you can go into nvidia control panel and look for a setting which will be set by default to 'adaptive performance' (I think it was called that) and set it to 'always maximum performance'. You can do this only for Dota 2 by choosing the .exe file for Dota 2 in the drop down list above all the options in ncp.

What you also can do is monitor your CPU usage while playing Dota 2 see what software/services are using so much resources of the CPU so that it works in 90%...

Also on your resolution scanning - does it go up to 100% or 200% ? In case where it goes up to 100% and you got it set on that the game might be rendered in 4K and then scaled back down to 1080p... try reducing the scaling and see how it goes... although I don't suppose it will be this as this would put more pressure on the GPU than CPU... but worth a try.

Unfortunately, i am still having this problem...
I have tried everything you reccomend, but it did not help me, i can`t find why my GPU dump clocks and didn`t want to use its all power in Dota 2

Hello,
Yes, problem has been solved after one of the windows update (creators maybe, i don`t really remeber it), i don`t know what happened but now dota runs smooth and without fps drops.
