I've recently bought GTA V and when I started to play it, I could barely handle the game. It was lagging stuttering and all over the place. I though it might have been my ram as that was my previous solution to Battlefield 1. I bought a new hyperX fury 8GB stick 1866mhz and it was delivered overnight. Previously I had 2 4GB sticks but one was second hand and they were both 1600mhz. I have GTA V on all normal settings and running directX10.
