My friend was having issues with his computer( amd fx 6300, gtx 960, adn 4gb of ram) it would randomly turn off, and he would try to turn it back on and nothing would happen, then about two hours later it would turn back on by itself. We both thought this was the power supply so we replaced it. It kept on happening. Then he went to determine if something else was bad, thinking it was ram, and took sticks out making sure it was in sequence, but he forgot to unplug the computer from the wall(it was turned on but plugged in) then tried to post and it wouldn't even turn on. Even trying putting the ram back in. Any suggestions??? my only guess is the computer is not getting enough power. any help is much appreciated

2 questions.

1. What power supply do you have now and wat is the certification (80 plus...) and wattage?

2. How old is the system?

The power consumption isn't a problem. Although, the power supply isn't that power efficient, but I don't think that that's the problem. The problem might simply be worn out components, since the build is 2 years old. But the average lifespan of (most) components is more than 2 years. It's a mystery to me, if i'm honest. You might want to try a 80+ bronze 500 watt power supply. If that doesn't work, I have no clue what the problem is.
