CPU and HDD usage when idle.

Hi there!

I have recently noticed that my CPU and HDD is being somewhat used after around 5 minutes of complete inactivity. The CPU usage goes up to 20-30% and HDD usage is jumping between 80-100%. The moment I move the mouse the CPU usage goes down to 0-10% and HDD stays pretty much at 0%. For the record, I do have some programs running in the background e.g. Kaspersky Anti-virus, GeForce Experience, OneDrive, Logitech Gaming Software as well as the monitoring software CAM. There are 2 processes that appear on the top of the list in the task manager when this happens and they are: Service Host:Disk Defragmenter (which is the one using the HDD) and Qualcomm Atheros Killer Network Service (this is part of the software pack that came with my mobo, uses both CPU and HDD)

I haven't observed any performance issues or slow downs whatsoever. It's just something that has been bugging me since I got my new CPU cooler, because this is when I started to monitor my temperatures just to see the difference between my new and old cooler and I discovered this weird behaviour totally by accident. Otherwise, I wouldn't have noticed it, because as I'm saying it has no impact on the overall performance of my pc.

So the questions is: Is it normal?
Is there anything unusual about it? Should I be worried?

In case you want to know, here are my specs:

i5-4690
GTX 1080 Ti
16 GB RAM (2400Mhz)
MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard
Windows 10

Thank you.

Absolutely normal. Win 10 has a lot to do in the background, and it usually does that when comp is at idle. Antivirus, disk checking, Windows defender, windows update to name just a few things that will occur while machine is not used. Not too mention other programs that may be installed on your system. So there's nothing to worry.
