So I'm thinking about buying my friend a HIS AMDradeon hd 6850, for 30$. He is only a CSGO and Rocket League type gamer. Is it worth buying for the price i'm paying? If possible, will it perform reasonably well? Thanks for your opinion!

Solution
Yes to both questions.
played CS:GO very well with HD6770, and your HD6850 is stronger than HD6770 , so it is confirmed that it will work well.
Now about rocket league - About settings, well, I am not sure on which but it will be playable.
And for 30$ I think this is very good deal.
And last thing is that I hope that your friend has OK processor=CPU so he can play above games.
Good luck :)

Well I had struggles to play CS:GO with core 2 duo e8300 which is older generation than i3, but quad core would mean so much.
But yeah, GPU won't bottleneck CPU and I still suggest you to buy that card, and after that I am suggesting buying i5 2nd or 3rd gen. CPU.
How much RAM he has?

CS:GO is perfectly playable with 4GB, no worries :)
