I have an SSD with windows os and all the essentiall things for my pc to run but my other 2 TB harddrive just recently crashed so i bought a new one and plugged it in but when i try to start my pc it it says "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key". How do i work my way around this?

Cheers.

Sounds like your HDD is boot priority #1 - ensure the SSD is the priority in your BIOS.

It's possible you were booting from the HDD all along in that case - if you can't boot from the SSD, use install media (USB/Disk etc) and the "repair" functionality to rebuild a boot partition.
