Hello ,
I ordered online a custom PC from a company (in germany) and I had the option to choose between "Boxed" or "Tray" CPU ( i7 7700 ) so i chose Boxed since im not getting an aftermarkt cooler.
The PC came with a tray CPU as I found in the bill, should I send it back or order a refund of the diffrence between tray and boxed CPU ?
Thanks.

like you said '' The PC came with a tray CPU as I found in the bill, '' if you need warrantee due to a bad CPU that's between you and the system builder [hp dell acer , who ever ] then they deal with intel on there agreement in bulk OEM sales not with INTEL as with a ''retail''' where YOU are covered under intel warrantee and rma process between you and intel

good luck

Tray comes with CPU only. Box comes with CPU and cooler. K sku CPU's do not come with a cooler period.

I don't think tray CPU have warranties as they are intended for companies to include it in mass production of a desktop computer. AKA DELL or HP. I could be wrong but every time I've sent an Intel chip in they wanted a picture of the box with all the information and a receipt of where I got it from.
