How many computer fans can I put in the same pin?

Hello, I recently bought 1 Noctua NF-P12 120MM ultra quiet fans and it comes with a Y-splitter. I was wondering if I bought 4 fans, could I connect 4 of the fans into the same 4 pin connector in the motherboard? I could connect 2 Y-splitters in 1 and it should provide me with 4 slots. I am well aware that my motherboard will read it as only 1 fan but is it do-able?

Thanks.

Might be. Check your motherboard manual if the header has amperage limit. As long as total amperage of all fans connected don't exceed motherboard limit, you are good. However, if the manual does not specify limit, you need to be cautious. 2 fans per header is safe in most cases, but more might not be.

Ok, thanks. I did a quick check in my mobo's spec list and didn't see anything but I'll just do like you said. Instead of using 4 I will just use 2 per slots. I have 2 4 pin fan connectors anyway. I can deal with that.

I see, but I am fine with just drawing it from the motherboard. I don't have anything extreme in my build. I can't even overclock my CPU and that leaves me with just my GPU that gets power mainly from the 6pin PSU connector.
