my cpu fan usually runs around 3000rpm but this morning i noticed my temps were higher than usual proced to check the fan and it was running around 1900rpm and keep decreasing, i inmedatly went to the motherboard fan settings but everything was fine, luckly i had another fan around to replace it, this happened after overlocking the cpu

Solution

I would say that the old fan has gone bad. It wouldnt surprise me if the old fan did go up to 5000RPMs time to time, its not completely dead but its in the process of dying.
If the old and new fan had the same problem then it would be a problem with the mobo, fan settings, bios...

The fan that you replaced the old one with, does this one function normally?
If the new fan works fine then I would say that your old fan got burned up, since your overclocking your CPU you need a aftermarket cooler or a liquid cooler on it.

yes it does work normally no problem , the thing is i've seen that old fan go up to 5000RPM without problems but i guess it could have burned, i've applied oil on it, but still it doesn't go up to 2000rpm

yeah i replaced the fan, plugged the old fan in the "sysfan2" and then used SpeedFan to do tests, it reached a max of 2200rpm and wont go higher, thanks anyway :)
