So I built my PC in December of 2016, and it was working fine for a couple weeks, but I came across a problem playing CS:GO and it soon happened in every game I tested.
Basically, the screen flickers with green lines down the screen for one or two frames, very short, and then the screen turns to a blank screen of any random color that seems to be influenced by my surroundings in-game (EX: If I'm looking at the sky, the screen crash will be blue. If I'm looking at the grass, the screen crash will be green).
This happens completely randomly. Sometimes it happens a couple minutes after I start the game, sometimes an hour after, and, very rarely, it never happens.
I took the PC into Micro Center and they played 2 battles of BF4 and they tested the PC with Unigine Valley (which I have seen the crash happen on many times) for 48 hours and they never got the crash.
This leads me to believe I could have a bad monitor, as Micro Center suggested it is likely a peripheral device, and I have swapped out my keyboard, mouse, etc. and the crash still
happened, but I can't find ANY cases online of someone's computer crashing thanks to the monitor, and this crash ONLY happens when gaming and happens in EVERY game, even games that are no less intensive on the monitor than a YouTube video, which I have never received a crash on, AND I've seen a crash happen in the menu of a game, so I kind of have my doubts over any argument that the crash is due to an overload on the monitor.
What are your thoughts? I don't have any replacement parts for testing, FYI.
UPDATE:
I was just playing a game and a crash happened-but it was something completely different. The screen cut out but then it came back. Event viewer showed event 4101- that the graphics driver stopped responding and then recovered. Could I have a weak connection in my GPU that could be causing this? It could normally stay out of connection but it might have decided to fix itself today... IDK I'm so confused!!!
