New Router, Ethernet speed cut in half?

SO I just bought a new router, I was getting 130mbps before on ethernet, now i'm getting 94mbps MAX on ethernet, any ideas?

Router: Asus RT-AC1200 -latest firmware- re installed firmware, restored the router to factory as well, reset modem. tried a different cable, tried it with a different PC and the ethernet was still capped at 94 ish.

Someone for the love of god help me with this god awful thing.

Pretty much read the specs on the router and make sure the wan and lan ports say they can run 10/100/1000. Asus makes good product, that particular router seems to be their budget model. Stay with the better known brands. TPLINK tends to be cheaper than other but has good performance. Still do not chase the big numbers, a ac1200 or ac1450 is going to be fine for most people. In your case just be sure it has gig ports

check the router setting, should be there somewhere. If you are getting 134 from the modem direct and not the router, that is a possible issue. other odd's are the link setting in the router... Is it showing a gigabit connection to your computer AND to the Router? if either are NOT Gigabit, you will cap @ 90~

I've checked every tab in my router settings not a single mention of MTU :(

Ah so my max packet size without fragments is 1472 then add the 28 and it's 1500 the one in the router was 1492 but it wasnt a default option it was set to automatic ip, BUT it will only let me set a max value of 1492...... so....

It states on the asus website it is a 4 port gigabit router.

It does say that, surprising, the specs pages says it only has 10/100 ports. When this router first came out I though it was so cheap compared to their other 1200 versions. Problem was it only has 10/100 and has much less memory so it does not run third party firmware images.

I didnt buy it lmao idiot friend did for our apartment smh, guess i'll be buying one, what should i get so i dont get 10/100
