Does my motherboard support " RAM " ?

Solution
From what I've determined about your board, it should support either of those options.

Go here: https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B85-G41-PC-Mate.html#down-manual and download the manual for the board. It's a handy PDF to have should other questions arise.

Also on that support page is a list of RAM modules that have been tested with that particular board by MSI. That's not to say other RAM not listed there won't work, just that those particular brand modules were tested.

You are very welcome.

Almost any DDR3 RAM that is 240pin NON-ECC Low Density should work in your motherboard. The only problem people generally run into is buying server RAM (ECC, sometimes High Density), which is attractive because it's often much cheaper, but generally doesn't work well or at all with your average PC motherboard.
