Hi all!

I'm an architect and at the moment I'm willing to build a new Workstation mainly for rendering (3dsmax + Vray) and also for CAD/design programs (Autocad, Vectorworks, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator...).

I have been out of the hardware world for a while, but I've seen that AMD has recently released quite powerful cpu series, the Ryzen 7. I've read quite good reviews regarding multicore calculation which is the base for rendering as far as I know. I don't know if Intel would be a safer bet regarding BIOS and so on.

This is the setup I've thought:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-AX-370-GAMING 5
RAM: 2X Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 3200 PC-25600 16GB (2x8GB). 32GB Total.
GPU: PNY Quadro K2200 or MSI Geofrce GTX 1070/1080 8GB ?
PSU: Corsair RM750X 80 plus modular
HDD main: Crucial MX300 SSD 275GB
HDD 2: Toshiba DT01ACA300 3TB Sata3 64MB
BOX: Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow edition
COOLER: Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H115i
KB: Logitech G213
WIFI: Asus PCE-AC56 AC1300
FAN: Corsair Air Series AF120 Low noise (2x)
SCREEN: Dell Ultrasharp U2414H (I alread have one, and would like a 2nd one).

What do you think about it?

I'm also not sure about the GPU, as I've also been reading that every they there is less difference between Quadro's and GTX in my software sector.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I'm not sure if workstation really need quadro gpu to work but a similar performance of gtx 1080 is Quadro P5000.
Quadro K2200 is an outdated card so i wont even consider it since the new pascal Architecture had a big difference.

I would still rather you use a new 24/27inch 1440p + your dell 1080p monitor. It's gtx 1080... It'll be a mistake to run 1080p on that. You...

You think so? I've also heard that it might be much better to have a 4x4 GPU.

The thing is that I would rather have 2 screens than a bigger one.

Whats wrong with the Wifi? :??: It had good reviews

Nothing wrong with wifi. It's just more common to see people use long lan cable installed for workstation, or at least in my experience. Unless it's impossible to use a lan cable, always go for lan.
