So I'm gonna buy an X370 motherboard but Ryzen can only run DDR4 2400 at default. Does that mean that if I install the 3200 memory it automatically downclocks to 2400? Do I have to change voltages?

Solution
All DDR4 RAM is 2133mhz, and most of the time will boot at that, each batch is tested at the factory to see what speeds it can do, and is then programmed with a pre overclocked setting, otherwise known as XMP profile, so it then becomes factory overclocked to 3000mhz, or 3200mhz etc, all the end user has to do when they get there ram is plug it into the board, enter the bios and load the XMP profile to get the full speed out of it, this setting also has embedded in it, the correct timings and recommended voltage.

Good choice in board by the way, my MSI board runs my ram at full speed, 3200mhz, my last board was a Gigabyte and wouldnt get the same ram above 2133mhz.

So I don't need to adjust voltages and stuff? I really don't want to mess with voltages.

Tried with XML profile and without.....btw new BIOS F5, try it, your ram may be better supported than mine.
