So I'm trying to gather all the information I Can about RAM as Ryzen 5 is out and it needs fast speeds to work well .
So I've chosen a corsair LPX 3000Mhz ram 1*8gb and will later on add another stick most likely when I get the funds
What I'm wondering is if I get the 3000Mhz RAM will I be able to run the XMP or in this case AMP only at 3000Mhz and will get 3200Mhz only if I manually overclock the RAM by medling with the settings (which I'm not sure I want to do) Or will I be able to run them at3200 by using the settings
Sorry for the noob question
And also which is the better Motherboard the ASUS PRIME B350 or the Gigabyte AB350 GAMING 3
thanks in advance

Yes if you want 3200mhz you need to buy 3200mhz memory.

Ryzen greatly benefits from faster memory and Corsair LPX is on the support list which is good. Its just motherboard support is spotty but is improving, so you...

With Ryzen right now I would not count on even running the ram at 3000mhz. My system just got a BIOS update to allow my ram to run at 3200mhz.

Anyway your best bet is to set the XMP profile (in the ASUS case its DOCP) to run it at 3000 mhz. I seriously doubt you will be able to manually get that memory to 3200mhz, theres a reason its rated at 3000.

So If I want 3200Mhz I need to buy that kit ? and will there be a huge difference in performance between 3200 and 3000 ? And is 3000 a bad idea for Ryzen ?
