my current motherboard is asus m5a78l-m/usb3 and my processor is fx 6300. i have a deepcool gammax s40 cooler. My motherboard has a 4+1 phase vrm design and due to this i am unable to attain a good overclock due to vrm overheating and apm throttling and the clock speed falls very much while gaming even at stock speeds falling as low as 3 ghz (i have disabled all the power saving features in bios).

Thus, i want to upgrade my motherboard. I have a budget of about Rs10000. Also, i may upgrade to a eight core processor in the future(maybe) and might do some slight cpu overclocking.

i have selected these two motherboards,
1. asus 970 pro gaming aura : this has 7+1 phase vrm with a large heatsink and digi+ vrm
2. asus m5a97 R2.0 : this has 4+2 vrm with a heatsink.

i want a good suggestion between these two and other motherboard suggestion is also welcomed
(like gigabyte etc but not msi).

By the way, are asrock motherboards good?

I like the updates features on the AURA and it's a nice looking 970 board.

AM3+ socket with 970 chipset for AMD FX processors
SupremeFX delivers flawless audio that makes you part of the game
Intel Gigabit Ethernet with LANGuard for top-speed protected networking
Dual USB 3.1 Type A ports and M.2 (PCIe 2.0 x4) for ultra-speedy data transfers
Aura RGB LED lighting control for a customized look

i have heard that msi board's vrms are quite weak and is the msi 970 gaming contains a 6+2 vrm?
also , will the gigabyte board mentioned be better than the asus pro gaming aura?

Thanks in advance.

Not true, the 970 Gaming is an 8+2. here is a helpful database

Basically you want an 8+2 based on my experience.

I like the ASUS the most, I always build with ASUS. Just giving you other options.
