So i recently had this problem where my ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2 motherboard wont show my ethernet cable in windows even though the lights at the back were blinking which means the motherboard detects the ethernet cable. So then i reinstalled windows. Nothing. Installed realtek lan drivers. Nothing. Then i thought that it must be the bios since the bios was so old. So i downloaded the bios, went into bios and flashed the bios. It said "updated successfully! System will reset!" But it was frozen. I waited 10 minutes and reset it myself. Now it boot loops and im getting a constant red DRAM LED and sometimes blinks CPU LED. Does anyone know how i can fix this problem???

Thanks.

Solution
So ive managed to fix it myself, i plugged the usb into the flashback port and held it down for 3 seconds. Waited for blue light to turn off then turned on the PC and let it update itself. Now my PC boots normally. But im still having the same problem as previous bios. My ethernet cable wont show in windows. The LEDs turn on (orange LED always on green LED blinks) when the ethernet cable is plugged in. Ive tried installing lan drivers from the website: https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX_R20/HelpDesk/ (windows 10 realtek version 10.9)

and when installing it stops and says something like "installation failed may be in deep sleep mode". Someone know how to fix this?

It said it was successfully flashed, and i cant send it back so thats not an option.

have the computer turned off, hold the button down and the computer will boot up like you hit the power button, then just release the button and let it do its thing.

I did it a few weeks back, but I think it shuts down when its done. I always buy the ROG boards and they come with the ROG connect so I had it hooked up to another computer and could watch what it was doing on the other computer.

It doesn't take more then a few min to run the test, if the computer doesn't shut down after 10 min then ether hit the reset button and see if it will boot or hold the power button down to shut it down then boot it back up.

I swapped from 12GB to 24GB and my board would do the same thing, the cpu led would flash then the Dram would just stay lit. Swapped between the two bios, did multiple bios resets, and even drained all the power and pulled the cmos batter for 30 min but nothing worked. then I figured out the mem test button and it booted right up after the test.

The computer will turn on just by pressing the button once though

So ive held the memok button down for 10 seconds and it stays on for a few minutes then shuts off. Then continulously boot loops. 10 second intivals of turning off and on.

Normally when an asus board does a boot loop it means the OC has failed, hitting the power button to turn it off and then turning it back on acknowledges this and it boots with default setting and forces you to hit F1 to enter the bios.

Not sure why that board keeps going into a boot loop.

Does it show up in the "Device manager"?

In device manager>network adapters it shows WAN Miniport (IKEv2) WAN Miniport (IP) WAN Miniport (IPv6) WAN Miniport (L2TP) WAN Miniport (Network monitor) WAN Miniport (PPPOE) WAN Miniport (PPTP) and WAN Miniport (SSTP). But this is after i installed realtek LAN drivers. Before i installed realtek lan drivers network adaptors didnt show up. If i click view>show hidden devices it will show microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter.

I dont understand why its happening. It just randomly didnt detect in windows. Even though the lights are blinking meaning the motherboard knows it exists. Ive tried reinstalling windows, different ethernet cables and nothing. Getting extremely frustrating at this point.

thoes are only the wireless drivers, there is not one of thoes that is your LAN driver. is there an unknown device shown in the list somewhere?

it would not be under network adapters. just ANY unknown devices in device manager.

That's not good Brochacho. Means your OS doesn't even see a lan port. there's a button to "scan for hardware changes" in that window when you have any item in the window selected, click it and see if any show up.

nothing. no fix. i just bought a PCI ethernet port a few days ago to reduce my stress. it works and is faster than the motherboard ethernet port anyway. but there is another problem which is so annoying. the audio port doesn't work. it wont detect my audio anymore. ive done everything and nothing works. there are no unknown devices in device manager, when i plug my speakers in it doesn't show up in anything. windows cant see my audio ports or my ethernet ports for my motherboard. can someone fix this????
