So, I have a ROG G20 AJ that used to have a gtx 745. I upgraded it last November to RX 470. Ever since, the PC will get a black screen when playing games (ie the witcher 3) with audio for about 10 seconds, then nothing. I have to force turn off pc by holding power button. I have gone into wattman and lowered gpu usage, but still crashes, but not as often. i have upgraded the power from 180 watts to 245 watts as well.

I would this but, my computer is pretty different. It uses external power, and upgrading it is a bit expensive. Rather than PSU upgrade being 50$ it's more like 150$. This only started happening about a month ago as well.

Then get a lower power use video card. I'm surprised the RX 470 even ran this long on that low wattage PSU.

Well how is that supposed to be an option if I just said that I'm on a budget?

Your power supply is well under the recommended one needed for your video card. You have 3 choices, don't use the computer, replace the power supply or replace the video card with a lower power use model.

It could be a defective card. Have you contacted Asus or the seller about a replacement?

I have not, I will try that route. If that doesn't work, should I try wiping the HDD?

EDIT: HDD not GPU jesus christ
