I am getting ready to change my mobo , cpu and hdd. My pc came factory with win 10 and has a product key sticker on it. My question is can i make the start up disk from Microsoft site tool download and use product key code to install it to new stuff and make it like factory with fresh start on it all or will Microsoft not let you do that?

Solution

Maybe.
A preinstalled Win 10 OEM is likely the only situation where this will not work.

Before changing any hardware, read and do this:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change

Maybe but the activation process uses some serial numbers read out of the components to generate a unique key tagged to that product key code. So with new hardware it may do a lookup on the key code at activation and deny it. At that point, you'll need to call MS and explain what you are doing. They may or may not approve it so you might have to buy another key.
