So I built my first PC about a year ago and it mainly collected dust as I wasn't quite ready to leave console behind. Although, I've learned slowly at first, PC Master Race is an ongoing joke for a good reason. Everything runs so much smoother, quicker, and more satisfying really. Anyways, onto the important stuff. So my PC is as follows:

  • Windows 10 Home - 64-bit - OEM

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Upgraded USB 3.0

    CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model

    AMD FD8350FRHKBOX FX-8350 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition Processor

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan (RR-212E-20PK-R2)

    XFX RADEON Double D R9 280X 1000MHz BOOST Ready 3GB DDR5 2XmDP HDMI 2XDVI Graphics Cards R9-280X-TDFD

    ASUS TUF SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 Socket AM3+ DDR3 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 AMD 990FX ATX Motherboard

    Transcend 256GB MLC SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5" Solid State Drive 370 (TS256GSSD370S)

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 80+ GOLD, 750W ECO Mode Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI and Crossfire Ready 10 Year Warranty Power Supply 220-G2-0750-XR

BenQ ZOWIE [New] 27-Inch QHD 2560x1440 LED 144Hz Quad HD Gaming Monitor with S-Switch, XL-Series for eSports Tournaments and Professional Players (XL2730)

I'm looking for some suggestions on what softare to download for monitoring relative information to monitor while gaming, recording gameplay, and testing stability. Also, given the build, what temperature is ideal? When running Overwatch I use the in-game CPU Temp Monitoring and it reads 63-68C which I believe is pretty hot for a CPU. I've tried blowing out all the dust with dust-off and reapplying thermal paste after watching 7 youtube videos on the "best application method" and learned that it really doesn't make all that difference that I would have expected it to. I've also rewired my computer twice and moved the fans up, one blowing directly at the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. Originally I had the CMH212 EVO facing down, towards the graphics card, and it was getting a 59-64C reading in Overwatch, but as per what videos I have watched recommended, I spun it facing the front fans, which is now a higher temp being read. So any recommendations to make it run cooler, if needed, would be greatly appreciated. Finally, is overclocking going to be beneficial, or even advised being that I am not running any liquid cooling?

I know that was a long read and I thank any in advance who take the time to help me out.

Definitely great information to have. I guess it running for 4+ hours at that temp is NBD then. Any suggestions for the above questions as well?
