Wait a second... you said 1050 4GB do you mean the 1050 Ti then? Because the 1050 (not Ti) comes with 2GB mem...

For me personally it doesn't seem like a best upgrade, I'd rather save up for like a 1060 or 1070 but if you want to upgrade to current Gen and you're limited with budget - sure go for it.

^ I agree , I personally think from the current rangenof cards 'real' 1080p gaming cards start at the RX 470 .
The 1050ti was a replacement for the 750ti & is aimed more at people with limited PSU wattage & space requirements than out & out performance.
In the UK , Europe, USA the 470 is generally 15-20% more expensive for 40-50% more performance .
