So what can I do to improve gameplay like get the latest drivers.or must I just give up and get a decent gaming rig

Your problem is you want to play what are very demanding games, but you're trying to do it on a low end system that was never meant for gaming. So yeah, give up on the idea of playing these games on this computer.
