Hello guys, so is it still worth to buy ddr3's?And if yes which motherboard should i get. I want to play in high-ultra settings in 1440p 60 FPS in games like Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and around 140 in multiplayers like Rocket League or Overwatch. I really want to save as much money as possible.
My specs will be:
GPU: RX480 4gb, one of pricier manufacturers
CPU: i5-7500 (no oc)
RAM: 8gb of said ddr3 OR 8gb ddr4
Monitor: 24 inch 1440p 144hz with freesync
Mobo: need help here
HDD Disk: Toshiba P300 1TB
Case: SilentiumPc Gladius M20 Pure Black
PSU: SilentiumPC Vero L1 600W
If you need other info i can add it. I really want 1440p, not necessarily on 27 inches. I will use PC, MOST of the time on games, so i want as much performance in games no matter what, with reasonable price.

Here's list of many (if not all) MoBos with LGA1151 socket that also have the support for DDR3 RAM,

Pick any MoBo you like based on aesthetics and/or features it has.

Though, DDR3 stock speed is 1600 Mhz while with DDR4, you're looking towards 2400 Mhz stock speed. You can go for faster RAM sticks than stock speeds if you go for Z-series MoBo since those also support RAM XMP profiles.

As far as DDR3 2400 Mhz and DDR4 2400 Mhz goes, DDR4 is better,

I, personally, would go with B250 chipset MoBo and 2x 4GB 2400 Mhz RAM, e.g...

As far as the rest of your build goes, you may struggle with 1440p. You can play on low/medium settings @ 1440p with your 4GB RX 480 but it won't be pretty. Your build is good for high/ultra settings @ 1080p though.

Oh, your PSU is also low quality (Tier four) unit and i wouldn't use it.
PSU Tier list: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
For proper PSU, look towards Tier two. E.g Seasonic M12II-520 EVO or G-550,

For proper 1440p (2K) build with solid 60+ FPS @ high/ultra settings, you're looking towards GTX 1070.
