Hello everyone,

I have a super old alienware pc (2006) and it is equipped with this motherboard: http://www.nvidia.com/object/designed_by_nvidia_680i_lt_sli.html (LGA 775).

Since I have an emotional bond with it I would like to "revive" it. It works perfectly fine but its graphic card is super old and can hardly play games such as CoD Black Ops 2... I was wondering whether a newer graphics card (1050 or 1060) is compatible with the above mentioned motherboard.

Runs Win 10.

Thank you in advance :D

I'd go with an RX 460 of the new cards. I think it's your best chance at compatibility, since the new Nvidia cards are likelier to require the motherboard have a UEFI bios.

However, if it were up to me I'd go with a used card. Reviving a system that old would be something I'd do as low cost as possible. You mentioned Black Ops II, I think if you got yourself a 2gb HD 7850/7870 or 2gb GTX 650 Ti or 660 you'd be set. Older cards do use more power though, so depending on your power supply situation the RX 460 might turn out to be the lower cost option.
