So,I used to play GTA 5 quite smoothly on my laptop but for last 4-5 weeks or so it works fine for 2 mins and then frame rate drops to like 2-3 frams/sec then again back to 60 and i have tried every graphic setting possible V sync ,texture ,resolution everything the only change before then and now is windows update but i think the game started to lag before the update and also all my graphic drivers are up-to-date.What can I do plz help.
quick update:I tried running the game with integrated Intel graphics same result works fine for like a minute(at 25 frames at lowest settings) and boom 2-8 frames so its not graphics card at fault here.

Solution
The Windows Power option (not talking GPU in case that is what you listed), can cause your clocks to stay low even when gaming. Try changing that to balanced when you are gaming. There might even be an option that changes to a higher power setting when plugged in the wall (I've never checked this on a laptop).

Also, being a latptop, that i5 only has 2 cores, so games which need more will not perform well.

If the above doesn't help at all, monitor the temperatures of your CPU and GPU. Laptops have a habit of having heat issues due to dust.
Monitor the temps and clocks of your GPU and CPU while in game. FPS drops like that are usually CPU related. Laptops are especially vulnerable to temps and needing to be plugged into the wall.

You may also want to check to see that Windows Power option is set to balanced or performance.
