Help me out, second stick of RAM not being recognized!

So, i recently bought a new stick of RAM so that i could have 16 gb (bought a Corsair valueselect 2133Mhz 8gb) and i just installed it, but after booting the system up and using CPUz i noticed that the second stick of RAM is not being recognized at all! What should i do? What can i do?

Perhaps the new ram stick wasn't fully inserted the first time, or there was some corrosion on the empty slot that got cleared up by inserting and removing the ram. You can use the SPD tab in CPU-Z to compare the frequency and timings of the old and new ram. If different frequencies, both sticks will operate at the lower frequency, which may not be a problem because you now have double the ram. Go into your BIOS to enable dual channel operation, making sure you have the ram installed in the same colored slots.
