How to install m.2 PCIe ssd before first boot?

I'm awaiting my Alienware aurora r6, but I am regretting choosing the 1tb hdd rather than the m.2. I am planning to order an m.2 ssd before the pc arrives, but don't know how to go about installing it. If I remove the hdd and plug in the m.2 on first boot, will windows auto install on the m.2 ssd?

No.
As it arrives, the OS is already installed on whatever drive it comes with.

You'd have to either clone from the existing drive, or do a clean install of the OS on the new drive.
