Home office lighting?

What sort of lighting do you prefer or is most ideal in your home office (above computer?) What temperature range, type of light bulb etc.

I currently have standard warm white and I'm not sure this is most ideal?

Sorry for late reply. Yes I've learnt that there is not really an ideal with lighting and it's somewhat personal preference, but I think it is important to have the right lumen output for the space you are in.

I decided on a Phillips 12W LED 3000k 1400 lumen bulb to replace a 100W incandescent. 3000k is a tad whiter than the 2700k incandescent which I don't mind but 1400 lumen seems a bit bright for the space it's in. I've heard about a Phillips Scene switch LED bulb that can be dimmed to three different levels from a standard light switch which could be interesting. They are an 800 lumen 2700k bulb which may be more suitable for me.

I would not be concerned about "ideal" per se.

Use the lighting environment that you like and prefer.

Marketing has its values but one negative aspect is that it is always coming up with ways to make people doubt themselves one way or another.

Lots of techno-babble, pseudo-science, hair-splitting, and downright mis-information is used.

Swap out a few lightbulbs if you wish to experiment some but do not get hung up on "ideal".
