i7-4790 will no longer boost to 4Ghz

For comparison here's a benchmark i did a while back and another i did more recently

As you can see for whatever reason mu CPU will no longer turbo all the way up to 4Ghz (only 3.8) even though it's a non k version with a 212 Evo attached so temps should not be an issue.

I have a msi b85-g43 gaming and Intel Turbo is turned on in the bios.

I would just ignore what 3Dmark reads for the CPU clock speeds.
Your physics score actually went up, although it's probably within margin of error, however it wouldn't be higher with a lower clock speed.

Did you change settings in the bios? Try loading default settings and try again.

The 4ghz only can be achieved for one core. So when all cores are getting stressed it will divide the boost speed over all cores. 3.8ghz is the boost speed for all four cores, for 2 cores it would be 3.9ghz for example.

Do you have C-States enabled? If you ever disabled them it might not boost to 4.0GHz.

whats funny [not to him I guess] this is like the 3ed MSI with this I looked at in the past few months and there CPU not boosting I helped

one guy did update his bios and his went back working as it should but why it did not to start with we never figured out cause the bios he was on did fully support the CPU he was using ??

any way can you run this and 3dmark and post like I did here ?

then where you linked them scores the one you complaining about with the lower boost [ 3.8 ] has the highest scoring ???

Run occt with 1 thread and see if it goes to 4GHz.
