Is there a better cooler than NH-U14S for i7-7700k?

I have an i7-4790k currently oc'ed at 4.6ghz using the nh-u14s. I am about ready to upgrade to the i7-7700k (same oc) and am unsure that there is an AIO dual reservoir cpu cooler that would perform any better or be quieter than the nh-u14s. All the research shows it is about the same.

Any thoughts? current build is below. New build will be: Asus Max IX Hero, i7-7700K, G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800), MyDigitalSSD BPX 80mm (2280) M.2 PCI Express 3.0 x4 (PCIe Gen3 x4) NVMe MLC SSD (240GB), using the same case, gfx cards, powersupply, ssd's in raid0 for games.

Quieter? no.

That is the quiestest tower cooler you can get and an excellent cooler for overclocking.

If you wan to overclock further a 240mm radiator AIO cooler may get you there, but tbh on average you may only get 200mhz more out of it. IMO not worth the swap.

Yeah I am aware, but heck when you have the bug to "upgrade" your machine why not change a few parts around and get some money back while you do it. Looking forward to an asus board. Have used AsRock for the last couple of builds.

Aha! So its GAS then.... :) I get it, I have used Asus for a while (last three or four builds going back to an Athlon XP...), still using an i5-2500k oc'ed to 4.5GHz with NH-D14. I keep thinking about a new build, but this CPU (and 780ti GFX) is still running the latest games without me having to tinker with settings, so I cant justify the expense, yet... I say 'I', I mean 'wife'...

Happy building

Oh yeah, I dont think an AIO will be quieter or get you a better OC..

are there better coolers...yes. but depending on your chip it might not make a difference. some have an issue transferring heat to the heat spreader and in that case a better cooler wont help much.

Don't stop by and say there is a better cooler and then don't say what it is. Fess up.. what are they?

the 7700k is a great chip, but runs hot and even with an h115i my temps still suck.

honestly there isnt much of a reason to upgrade to a 7700k from a 4790k, especially since youll be using the same gpu. youd be much better off using the money youd spend on the chip and a mobo and putting it towards a new gpu.
