I would like to know which is the absolute best processor I can get for the fm2/fm2+ socket. I don't care about integrated graphics, just processing power. Thanks.

Solution
The 7890K is roughly the same CPU as the 880K, only more expensive because it doesn't have its integrated GPU (which you don't plan to use anyway) disabled.

Some benchmarks:

Athlon x4 880K. AMD only makes one die for socket FM2+, all CPUs for that socket just come with different stock clockspeeds and with various bits disabled. The 880K has a high stock clockspeed but is physically identical to any other quad core for the socket.

And, for what it's worth, it's still embarrassed by Intel's $60 Pentium G4560 in just about everything.

I'd have to agree. High-end Pentiums piss on these. And, they don't heat up like take-out.

Like the last guy said, if you're itching for a better GPU, a new LGA1151 and a Pentium would run better and faster, for cheaper than the 7870K.
