So when I analyze my 4TB Samsung HDD with WinDirStat it shows the size of the total data on the disk as 1.1TB, but windows properties shows the disk as 3.48TB used and 160GB free. How do I find out what is using the other 2.3TB of space? And more importantly, how to make use of it?

The largest part of the 1.1 TB is WindowsImageBackup files. There are some photos/vids and some other online backup storage files related to CrashPlan (online backup solution).

I checked disk management and it has a Basic 3725.90 GB NTFS healthy primary partition.

I've tried disk cleanup, emptying recycling bin, and defragging the disk, though it said it was not fragmented.

Some Specs on my setup:

On further analysis, I DL'd CCleaner, and analyzed the disk to find 2.5TB of backup related items. Opening Backup and Restore and Managing the Space used for this function, I was able to delete some of the backups, freeing up an entire TB of space.

So, this is solved. It just seems stupid that WinDirStat did not show all these compressed backup files during its scan.
