Hello, I am relatively new to pc upgrades/builds so I am unsure of what I should do.
I plan on slowly upgrading my pc, and I am using the Rx 480 as my gpu.

Currently I have:

CPU- AMD A8-7600 Radeon R7
Mobo- Gigabyte F2A78M-D3H

Note: With this build, for Overwatch (mainly what I play), on ultra settings I can reach 130fps average on the Main menu, 100 fps average in the start of the match, then 80 fps average throughout the rest of the match. It would dip to 55 fps for a split second when getting into a big fire fight. The game is very much playable, though I would like to get a consistent fps above 90.
Any suggestions as to which cpu/mobo i should upgrade to? Budget is $300

An easy answer would be an R5 1600 or 1500X and a B350 mobo.

The MSI Tomahawk comes in at about $95 USD https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813144018

And the R5 1500x is at $190 and the 1600 at $220.

Unfortunately, if you go with an AMD AM4 build, you need to throw in DDR4 memory as well and that's anywhere from roughly $80-200, depending on 8 or 16Gb.

You will find several options in the B350 niche. I would take time to read reviews both on newegg and the countless review/tech sites. Many of the tech review sites are using B350 boards, but most are more expensive editions like Gigabyte Gaming 3 boards, which I've seen in a number of reviews.

As for RAM, I would favor G.Skill Flare X but they're expensive. You can do well with some Corsair kits or lesser priced 8GB G.Skill. Take your time and read up on them and you can make a fair choice for yourself. Lots of threads here as well with similar questions already answered. Or bantered about...

Keep in mind that if you don't have an upgraded Windows 10 registered with Microsoft, that's an additional complication.

Ah yes I forgot to take under consideration for the ram. currently i have 16gb of DDR3 so i definitely would need to get DDR4 when getting a newer motherboard
