I decided to upgrade from my dell xps 15 9550 for a more powerful machine. I'm not traveling for college as much anymore so I thought I would give a computer a chance. I've put together the parts on pcpartpicker, here is the link https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rMRCkT. Do you guys think there is something that might not work or even some parts I should change for more efficient ones? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd try to squeeze in an i7 7700k and 1080 Ti with that budget.

I've also subbed in a higher quality PSU, dropped the SSD down to the EVO version, and put in a good air cooler, which is just better value for money.

I don't think you need a sound card. The built on sound chips on ASUS motherboards are extremely good. Also the STRIX Z270-E GAMING dual band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wifi and you wifi adapter does not.
