Hello, I have an issue with my laptop where the internet will randomly disconnect. I am connected to my school's wi-fi, and upon starting the computer things are fine to begin. However, after a while, whichever program I am using freezes and the internet disconnects. The task bar says "connected, no internet," but if I disconnect from the network the computer is unable to find new networks.

One other possibly related issue is when I reboot after the internet disconnect, I get a bluescreen with Driver Power State Failure. This bluescreen does not show up if I reboot before the internet fails, only after.

I have tried multiple things that I found online:

  • ■I installed the latest drivers.
■I tried to remove and reinstall the device in device manager, but I could never seem to completely remove it - upon rebooting, it would still try and connect to wifi.
■I tried to revert to a restore point, but there wasn't one from early enough.
■I also tried to adjust the power settings, including disallowing the device to turn off to save power. ■I'm pretty sure that this is an issue with my computer and not the network itself - the same issues occur when I connect to a different wi-fi network.
■This has been going on for a couple of weeks, and I'm honestly not sure what caused it in the first place - I don't recall doing any manual driver updates.
Laptop: Gigabyte P35x v4
CPU: Intel i7-5700HQ
RAM: 16GB ddr3
Video: nVidia 980m
Windows 10-64 bit

The adapter is an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, Driver version 18.33.6.2. Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing the router or modem the school has, but as I mentioned the same issue applies regardless of the specific wi-fi network.

If there's any more information that could be useful I will gladly provide it. Thanks kindly for any help.
