as it says ,

Warning : port scan detected in my router log.

Should I be concerned ? is some one trying to hack me ? and how to solve this problem?

Solution
You are pretty safe even with a cheap router if you do not port forward or DMZ. The NAT function is really stupid, if it does not know which machine in your house to send data to so it toss it away. This is pretty much the best security you can get. Most routers do not accept any traffic to the router itself from the wan so it is unlikely there is a firmware issue.

You see scans all the time it pretty much you ignore them unless they are happening almost continuously

Don't open ports on your router, don't enable WAN management, don't use the default admin password, keep your firmware up to date.

That is all you can do. Is someone trying to hack you? Yes. Is someone trying to YOU? Probably not. There are thousands of hosts that do nothing but scan all possible IP addresses looking for weaknesses. It is a fact of life. That is what a router/firewall is for.

should I get a better router? mine is the stupid Generic ISP one and they never release Firmware updates .. maybe they do it online themselves using the wan port? because sometimes I see in the Log that they accessed the router and restarted it .

can you give me the best secured router around ? I use ADSL modem.
