I have been having some issues installing the Bios update for my motherboard, I went via the Asus website and downloaded the update that should work for my specific board but when I try to update it via the EZ Flash utility it states an error message that it isn't compatible with the current Bios. If anyone could provide any information or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

The motherboard I have is a P5B-VM model, if that helps at all.

Oh and the reason I need to update it is due to just upgrading my CPU and now getting an error on boot stating that there was a CPU uload error, or something like that.

Thanks

Check your BIOS version and see if the CPU is on their support list. You might not need to update your BIOS, the chip might not be supported by the board. or simply install the new processor and reset CMOS before you try to boot it.

I know the chip is supported I checked the Asus list for this board and oddly I can't seem to find the specific bios version that my bios states it is. It states 0610 but I cannot see any 0610 version for the bios on the Asus website.

I will try the cmos thang see of i get anywhere.

Thanks!
