I would like to know if it would be worth it to upgrade to a gtx 1060 from my gtx 760.
I have i5 4460s and h81m-e motherboard and a 550 watt power supply.

Is my motherboard and power supply good enough for these upgrades? Should I choice 6 Gb ram Gpu for 144 hz monitor / 1440p?

Solution
At those lower wattage psus, they'll only come with 6+2pin pcie, so the card will be fine. The 1060 has a considerably lower power draw than a 760,so good there too. The i5-4460 is well balanced for use with either the 6Gb or 3Gb version of the 1060.

Generally, to honestly be considered an upgrade, you need to move up at least 2 steps. From 760 to 1060 is at least 3 steps, so the differences will be quite noticeable in detail settings. Meaning if your game was played on high at barely 60fps, you'll be looking at ultra with at least 60fps.

Its a solid move, for 1080p.

At 1440/144 the 1060/6 will struggle with anything except the slower games, strategies, Sims etc. To get 60 or better fps at ultra settings across most games, you'd...

Hi - Please list the brand & model of the PSU and Motherboard. Generally, a 550w PSU is
more than sufficient for a gtx 1070, but there are some junk PSU's out there and need
to insure yours is not one of those.

I believe most gtx 1070's include 8g if ram as it is, so 6g is moot.

The increase in performance of a gtx 1070 vs a gtx 760 is quite significant and assuming you
don't have a PSU issue I'd def go for it.

I upgraded from a GTX 760 to 1060 and can say its definitely worth it, i have the same watt PSU as you(550w). Just make sure it's not a cheap PSU and you should be fine. If you wanted to play games at a higher resolution I would get a GTX 1070, but if your on just using 1080p anything over a gtx 1060 is overkill.

To be honest, if your current PSU can handle A GTX 760, it should be able to run a 1060 perfectly fine. Just make sure you have a 6pin connector on your PSU, as the 760 uses an 8pin.
