Hello. So Iam upgrading my cabinet from Cooler Master K380 to Fractal Design R5. I have 2 120mm fans[CoolerMaster JetFlo 120 and DeepCool GF120]which i used in the old case. I would like to know, how can I use these 2 120mm fans effectively along with the stock fans for the best airflow and silence.

Rig:
GPU: Zotac Nvidia GTX 970 4GB DDR5.
Proccessor: Intel i5-4670 @3.40 GHz.
Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma.
Keyboard: Logitech K70 LUX Mechanical Keyboard.
Motherboard: MSI Z97s SLI Krait Edition.
RAM: 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz.
Case: Cooler Master K380.
Storage: 1x Seagate Barracuda HDD 500 GB, 1x Western Digital Blue HDD 1 TB, 1X Samsung 850 EVO SSD 120 GB.

Thanks in advance!!

I would recommend putting the 120s in the front, a 140 on bottom, and a 140 in back for the quietest build.

The front fans have absorption, but the rest do not. As such, the loudest fans should go in front, and quieter fans should go elsewhere.

IIRC the R5 includes 2 or 3 fans, I can't recall if there was 1 or 2 in the front of the case. I would suggest putting one of the extra fans in the open front spot as an intake, and the other in one of the bottom spaces in the case as an intake. This will leave you with 3 intake fans and 1 exhaust, which will help keep positive pressure in the case for less dust.

Ok. So the case comes with 1 140mm fan in the front and 1 in the rear. I was thinking of putting both 120mm fans in the front and the 140mm fan at the bottom and the last 140mm at the rear as it is. How does it sound?

That's exactly what I just told you, so ummm....yeah? lol

Mine has 4 intake and 3 exhaust, but 3 intake and 1 exhaust will net you the same result in positive pressure. Having no fans in the top slots will keep the case a bit quieter, for sure.

put 2x140 front intake ,and the bottom and rear 120

the filter will make it harder for the fan to take in air , so it is better to put the 2x140 at the front

intake cold Air is more important than out ...

Air will escape from the rear holes of the case as well .

ummm...ok.Makes sense. I will consider this option. Will test the temperatures with both the setups. Thank you.
