Am getting another computer. Want to save my photos onto a flash drive to put on new computer, in guessing that's the easiest way? I'm worried my computer might have a virus and didn't want to put photos on my new pc that might have viruses on. Would a normal scan of the pics and vids with an anti. Virus scanner pick up anything?
Also is it as simple as copying them onto a usb stick and then loading the stick onto my new computer

Thanks

Hello Yeaman, Just scan your image folder then transfer it to USB Flash drive, I think it will not happen. Or you can use USB Flash security on your new PC. Thanks

Just one word of advice...

It's fine to backup your photos and any other audio-visual material on a USB flash drive, but think of this "backup" as TEMPORARY storage. Presumably your photos are stored on one or more of your internally-connected drives and the photos you will be storing on the flash drive are backups of these photos. And TEMPORARY backups at that.

Your USB flash drive should not be considered as a permanent storage device, capiche? Flash drives are quite vulnerable and prone to becoming dysfunctional/defective.

I would assume the photos are quite precious to you and losing them for one reason or another could be disastrous. If that's the case, backup the photos onto a USB external HDD or SSD or another internally-connected HDD/SSD, or one or more DVDs. Just DON'T rely on flash drives for permanent storage. Capiche?
