Hey all,

I've got a problem to which i'm hoping there is a simple fix.

I use the same Ethernet cable between my Xbox and PC (cord is ran under house around 25m from router). Now, the problem is when i'm wanting to switch the Ethernet back to lets say my PC i get an "unidentified network" error. As a temporary fix resetting the router seems to do the trick however, this is becoming quite tedious having to reset the router every time i switch from PC-Xbox or visa versa.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I use to get that error regularly with my old Netgear router.

Only after buying a better quality (and much more expensive) router did the problem go away (a Billion router, brilliant piece of kit). I've never seen that error since.

Since resetting your router fixes it for a while, it's evidently your router that's causing it, that tallies with my experience.

Replace the router or just ignore the error. It didn't affect my networking/internet access but I got a new router anyway as the Netgear one kept dropping WiFi connection.
