No high Ram freq (3200Mhz) support on Asus Prime B350 Plus Mobo

Hi there, I just build up my Ryzen 5 1600 rig using Asus prime B350 plus mobo. I did the bios update to latest(0606) and whatever I do I can not get 3200Mhz out of my 2x8 Corsair Vengeance (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16) now. This is quite a dissopointment even though I should admit here that I should have check their memory support list before I purchase the mobo but I just thought it'd support high frequency Ram as how they've advertised "3200(OC)".
Well, clear that this is not the case.
On the other hand when I look on the RAM support list for MSI B350 PC MATE
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-PC-MATE.html#support-mem
I can see this mobo has support for mast majority of high frq. rams available in the market and luckly the ones what I have is also there and pc mate support the design speed 3200Mhz with ryzen cpu. I'm having difficulties to understand in case if Ram support is requiring AMD microcode update)as whay I've been reading forum pages) how on earth one mobo with same chipset can support 3200Mhz and the other can not?
In anycase,
I have chance to return the Asus mobo back and replace it with MSI PC -Mate. What do you think? Is it worth to make this chance in my case or should I just wait for further bios updates?

Tldr 1: same ram might work differently for different people because of difference in chips. Samsung single sided b die is the best. To ensure you get that get the rams with frequencies above 3400mhz.
Tldr2: for frequencies above 2666mhz only the even numbered Cas latencies seem to work.
Tlfr3: Don't stress much about ram speeds. Anything above 2400mhz is good enough to run now unless you are gaming with 150fps+ etc with a 1080ti. Bios updates will be rolled out to fix ram frequency compatibility soon.

Its upto you if you change the motherboard or not and get the MSI, first of all, I ask you, what settings are you using in the bios to try and get your ram to run at 3200mhz ?

Everyone builds boards slightly differently to other companies, otherwise one board would never be better than another, same applies to graphics card etc, they are given a reference design by AMD, ATI, nVidia, Intel and make there own little modifications here and there, My Gigabyte B350m board wouldnt run the ram past 2133mhz, but my MSI board went straight to 3200mhz without a problem.

Thanks a lot for your respond Seanie,
I agree, there shouldn't be much difference from brand to brand as log as they use the same chip-set however wider ram support is what Asus Mobo is lacking seems to be the case here.
In fact I managed to get 2666Mhz however CPU-Z bench runs showed poor performance compared to ram speed at 2400Mhz thus I keep them at 2400Mhz.
In order to get them to 3200Mhz, I applied 1.35V with timing of 16,18,18,18,36. CPU was OC ed to 3.5Ghz in all my attempts and no Voltage modification done to CPU. D.O.H.C preset profiles for 3200Mhz in not working either. Should I try something else?

I also have asus prime b350 plus atx motherboard and I am in the market for a ram. Coincidentally the corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 is high on my target list. The b350 plus qvl list says CMK16GX4M2B3600C18 can do 3200mhz at 18-19-19-39. In all likelihood this ram is just a better binned version of the 3200mhz C16 ram you have. There is a chance your ram can do 3200mhz at this timings if you manually set them.
Let us know if it works. I am strongly considering this ram.

Thanks,
it seems like your Ram timing for 3200Nhz is 16,18,18,18,38. Tried it but no luck still:(

Thanks for suggestion Drgoku, I tried those timings too but no success unfortunately. The max I can get is 2666Mhz so far.
I also wrote to Asus support and will let you know their response once I receive it.
Well, I guess I'll be changing to MSI PC mate since I have right to return the board with in 10 days of initial purchase date.

Try for 2933mhz instead for now.

You used 1.35v right?
Can you also check if your dram components are manufactured by Samsung. Samsung b die apparently works better with ryzen. Use this software thaiphoon burner.

In the meantime try 15-17-17-35 at 2933mhz at 1.35v.

Thats really good, that will be running pretty much at the same speed as CL16 3200mhz.

My Ram is G.Skill Trident Z RGB CL16, ive looked it up before, but not with that software, my computer wont allow me to open it, defender smart screen blocks it and I dont know how to disable it with this new damn update that microsoft forced out to most people, the creators update.

However, my Ram either has Samsung D or Hynix chips on it, I believe Hynix problems were sorted with the AGESA update.

EDIT: Managed to get it to open, damn Microsoft trying to take over the world, mine has Hynix on it. http://imgur.com/cwRTayy

EDIT2: also managed to get rid of that UN-smart screen rubbish, telling me what I can and cant run on my own computer.

Can you run this, only takes 5 mins to run, post your results please: http://www.userbenchmark.com/Software

Here's mine:
UserBenchmarks: Game 76%, Desk 117%, Work 113%
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 - 99.7%
GPU: AMD RX 480 - 70%
SSD: Amd-raid Array 1 749GB - 201.4%
HDD: Seagate Expansion Desk 3TB - 79.4%
RAM: G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3200 C16 2x8GB - 96.2%
MBD: MSI B350M MORTAR (MS-7A37)

Seems they have a little more work to do on memory

Tried 2933Mhz on 15-17-17-35 @1.35V= No success
Also tried 2933Mhz on 16-18-18-38 @1,35V still no success:(

Well, it looks like we might have to wait for asus to release a bios update. From their qvl list for the am4 motherboards, only the crosshair vi have excellent ram compatibility. All other boards x370 and the b350 have the same qvl list. Hopefully compatibility issue is at the asus level and they release a fix soon for all the motherboards not just crosshair vi.
Good news for you is that the msi b350 pc mate supports your corsair c16 3200 mhz at its rated speeds as per their compatibility list. So you might want to switch if you want. I am not giving up on asus yet. :-/

Last thing you might want to try is bus overclock. Keep the ram settings as is which works for you at 2666mhz. Remove any cpu overclock and Oc the bus to 120 from 100. This could give you 3200mhz. If it doesn't boot, change the timings to 18-19-19-39 and try.

CL16 3200mhz working straight out of the box here, and thats Hynix chips, the biggest problem for RyZen, Samsungs are supposed to be the best, but im seeing more problems with Samsung lately.

Well, I received an answer from Asus support today as below.

"Please note that Ryzen has issues all over with overclocking memory support, its just not ASUS and we are cooperating with AMD to try to solve as much as possible with this but we cannot guarantee that specific ram modules will work in the future
Keep an eye out for eventual bios updates"

I'll return the Mobo to replace with MSI B360 PC Mate.

I managed to run those ram at 2933mhz 14 14 14 30 @ 1.35v. Try that and see if its stable for you. For me so far so good and i run all my games smoothly on a 144hz and even multi task without having issues.
