Hi there. I've decided to get a gaming PC for the first time in my life. I dont like console gaming as much anymore and I think its time for a change. What sort of games could my PC play at a good framerate (50+) if my specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i5-7400 (Kaby Lake)
GPU: Nividia Geforce GTX 1050
RAM: 8GB
STORAGE: 256GB SSD
If possible, I would like a quick review of this PC (pros and cons)

All replies/advice given is hugely appreciated!

Solution
It would probably be best if you spent less on the CPU and more on the Graphics Card in this instance. A Pentium G4560 and RX 470 would perform much better in a majority of games over an i5 and GTX 1050 for around the same price. Other than that, 256GB storage would fill up fast if you don't have a bulk 500GB or higher hard drive for games and such. If you have a set budget just let us know and we can come up with a great build for you. You're making a good choice switching over and i Hope this helps :)

This PC is OK for most games and will give you decent frame rates in most titles but remember the power supply . Also, are you building it o just buying a prebuilt PC? And, as CRO5513Y Said, you can go with a pentium (especially the g4560 is a nice one.) and pair it with a gtx 1060 / rx 470. Each would be satisfying option.

Thanks for the advice. I have two PC's to pick from. An i5-7400 with a GTX 1050 OR an i5-6400 and an RX-480. I hope you guys could help me.

This is a pre-built one from Currys. This is my first Gaming PC, and I didn't wanna break the bank just yet :p.
The PSU is an 80PLUS Bronze ATX, 500 W.

Pick up the one with the RX 480 as this one will provide you significantly better Frame-rates than the one with the 1050. As for the CPU, A 6400 will almost be equal to the 7400 with a neglegible performance difference.Hope that helped!

Seeing as this is my first PC, I don't wanna build my own or get one customised. I just want a pre built one to get me into the world of PC Gaming, and I'll get a customised configuration at some point in the future.

Basically, the PC with the 6400 is £900 without a monitor but the one with the 1050 and i5-7400 is £1000 WITH a 24" 3D LED 144Hz monitor bundled with it, along with a wireless keyboard and mouse. My budget is about £1000-£1300 with peripherals such as a good monitor, keyboard and mouse, Windows 10 Home and McAfee virus protection.

This is UK, and my budget is £1300. I don't want a customised configuration as this is my first PC. I'll be looking for a customised PC in the future, but that isn't my main concern right now.

There's another PC I'm looking at (pre-built) and it has an i5-6400 with an RX 480 GPU if that helps...? I wouldn't mind getting either but the i5-7400 and 1050 has a gaming monitor with it for just £100 more (24") so if I was to get the i5-6400 and RX 480 I might risk going over my budget.

Not to worry about the PSU, it's a high quality Super Flower rebrand, absolutely killer deal.
Get this and have a local store assemble it.
You can grab an SSD later down the line if you'd like.

If you wanted a 1050 PC like that awful value thing they're offering get this.
By the way, the 144hz monitor they're offering is likely bottom end too.

Thanks for all 3 of your solutions, I greatly appreciate them, but I don't really wanna go through the hassle of going to a computer store and getting it assembled, as the chances of it breaking down are high as opposed to getting a pre built one.
