PCIE Slot crunch/grinding Noise when plugging in graphics card

I have the z270 Krait gaming motherboard and everything is great about it, it is overclocking well; the xmp ram profile is working great. My 1080 ftw is running amazing in the top 10% according to userbenchmark...so everything appears to be working just fine.

However, when i initially slid my graphics card into the pcie slot for the 1st time, it made a crunching noise. it wasn't very loud and nothing seems lose. Is that a normal noise? like the pins in the pcie slot are expanding with the insertion of the card. Since then, I have had to take the card out and put it back in a second time and the crunching noise was still there just not as loud or prominent as if the pins were broken in some after the first install making the Second install easier on them.
I've tried searching for anyone with the same issue and can not seem to find anyone with it. Any advice or info on this issue would be greatly appreciated. If my new motherboard came to me with a defunct pcie slot, I will exchange it. Part of me feels like it is a similar situation to installing a CPU with socket pins locking into place; like the pcie slot pins happen to be slightly tighter than usual or my 1080 ftw pcie plugin is slightly wider than usual putting pressure on those pins causing the crunching/grinding noise.

Solution
I had the same problem when I built my PC, and 3 years later, still no issues with it. This is typical due to the manufacturing process that the PCI headers are made with, not all of them are perfect. As long as you don't break something off or strip something, you should be good.
