hello,
I have some sort of a strange problem. My gtx 690 was beginning to die, strange thing were happening and I was trying all kinds of stuff on that graphics card to save her. I even tried disabling one of the gpus and flashing my bios. So now I have this strange thing, in every program it's showing only one gpu proccessor and not two as it was before. I don't know if it's because I somehow disabled this one gpu or this other is gpu dead, bescause the graphics card was baked in the oven and that bring her back to life after she was almost completely dead. For example, in GTA V it's showing only 2 GB of vram and in afterburner I can't choose second gpu because it's not listed anymore.

The oven trick is a temp 3-4month fix at max. I think 1 of the gpu's has either died or was disabled in the driver options. However if afterburner can't see a disabled gpu then thats not such a good sign. Might be time to let it go.

Yeah I know, I was thinking to buy 1080ti but I am somehow attached to this old gtx, I was able to run anything almost on max settings and now I can only use 2GB and play mostly on medium, that breaks my heart...

this trick is to repair solder joints if they somehow damaged or disconnected, I disassembled the card, took all plastic parts, cleaned the old thermal paste with alcohol and the put it in the oven on 200 celsius for 8 minutes, after that I put it together, not completely, just vital parts to see if it's even working, and now I have this problem

I have never heard of this method. I'm not an expert, but I don't think PC parts should be heated to 200°C. Maybe by putting it in the oven you've melted the GPU.

Yeah it's dead if even control panel doesn't find it. Do like me put your good old hardware on display. My 8800 and x850 hang on the wall.

It's ok to do this as a last resort. The gpu won't melt at 200°C they are created at much higher temps. I do not recommend it but if it's the only thing to do why not.

Yeah I'll probably use it until I get a new one or until she dies again, is there any other way to test the gpu, some sort of a program that checks if it's everything ok with the card? like programs that check bad sectors on hard drive

Not that i know of and google results just gave me gpu-z and afterburner. Those are just the standard programs of checking your gpu. I don't think the 690 will last very long anymore. I'm actually surprised that the card is even functioning at all. Usually when 1 dies the card is dead. So you are lucky in a unlucky situation.
