Fps on 1440p question

I want to upgrade to a 1440p 144z monitor but I have gtx 1080 and that varies the fps on 1440p so is it bad that some games are 80fps and others 120fps. How do you guys deal with this? Sorry if I worded this weird

It's impossible to answer your question. Some games are poorly optimized and some are optimized well. Some are more CPU dependent versus GPU. For starters could you list three or four games that you plan on playing? Also, what are your full specs, including your power supply's manufacturer and model number? What is the manufacturer and model of your display? I'm curious if you have adaptive sync. Personally I used to game on a 1440p 165 Hz with a single GTX 980 Ti, and I was very happy.

I am referring to since you get games you can run at 90fps others at 120fps is the difference so big that you would want to cap the 120fps to 90fps to get a more consistent gaming experience.
