The EVGA G1 is hardly better quality than the CX550M. If you're going for a high end unit like a G2, the cheapest you can get is the Corsair RMX 550w for $155, as seen...

The Fractal Design Edison M is based off the Seasonic G platform, higher quality than the new CXM units and the XFX TS 550w bronze (which uses a GB Bronze platform) and includes modularity.

There is the Seasonic S12G, which is based off of Seasonic G, so similar quality to the edison, just lacks modularity.

Other nicely valued units are a bit lower in quality but makes up for with wattage capacity. These are the new grey-labelled Corsair CXM units (CX450M, CX550M) and XFX TS 550w.

Would it be worth it to open up the budget a bit and go for a evga g1/g2 650? Would a better PSU be a big difference? I will be overclocking my CPU.

IMO the $60 isn't worth the bit better quality than the Seasonic G, or fully modularity as apposed to semi, and extra wattage (I'm comparing to the Edison M), however the choice is yours.

Would there be a big difference if I got a G2 750w evga supernova? It costs $159 where I'm buying it.

Also would you rather a cx550m with 3 case fans or a evga supernova g2 750 with no case fans. Which would be better for overclocking?

Here are quality/performance differences of the Seasonic G vs the G2 750w:

The 750 watts will allow for SLI in the future, and fully modularity for a slightly neater build/experience.
The case you've selected already includes a case fan, so you won't be going without.
