Should I sell GTX 1070 for Rx 580?

I have heard that Rx 580 runs dx12 better and is more future proof than GTX 1070 . However , even Nvidia has released their new dx12 drivers which have massively improved performance in various dx12 games. But I still think that Rx 580 will crush GTX 1070 in coming time in dx12. What should I do?

those facts r completely wrong. the 1070 is way ahead than the 480 and the 580 is just a 480 refresh with better clock speed n bumped up memory speeds. the 580 wont even have HBM2.

The RX580 is going to be a rebranded overclocked RX480 so I highly doubt its going to out perform a GTX 1070.

The RX 580 is going to be a slightly more efficient & slightly overclocked variant of the 480 so no mate , swapping a 1070 would be very very silly.

I got it.
After a bit of research I have found out that AMD cards are crap and it's better to keep GTX 1070 even after Vega comes out. I can't afford to lose gameworks, physX etc no matter what AMD offers.

No not really & that's not the reason you should keep your 1070.
Its simply the 1070 is a full tier higher card.
There would be a relatively decent argument for a 1060 vs 580 because they're on the same level - simple as that.

Physx ?? Does any title really support that now to any extent??

Vice versa game works - a moniker pretty much made-up solely to entice buying into buying nvidia over amd.

i will and always recommend the rx480 4gb over the 1060 3gb and now without a doubt, i would recommend the rx580 over any 1060. so radeon isnt crap. thats for sure.

I don't get why would one blindly recommend Rx 480 over GTX 1060. From what I have seen 1060 performs better in most of the benchmarks, Rx 480 takes the lead in doom Vulkan or Hitman DX 12 which are AMD owned titles. And yes 1060 3gb is a crap but certainly not the 6 gb variant.
Also for me gameworks make the game look a lot better so why not have it if u have a good card.
Why I said amd is crap just coz they use more power and run hot. For example Rx 480 draws as much power as GTX 1070 but performs nowhere close as said by others in this thread. I think amd needs to work on improving their efficiency and partner with more devs to optimize games for their hardware. Nvidia has been doing this for so long and hence I prefer them over amd.
And thanks for helping me out, I was about to make a very stupid decision of selling my GTX 1070 for a rx 480's crappy rebrand lol.

I don't get why one would blindly get an Nvidia card over an AMD. You need to actually look at what is available to you and make an educated choice. Not just say "wow, runs DX12 great!" or "wow, comes from X company and supports XY and Z!"

I think the choice can be as easy as is it green or red. We then get more traffic here because of expectations not being met and other reasons.

I am glad you, the OP, saw the light(or sign) and are keeping that 1070.
