need to choose right processor for my intel laptop

Hi All,

i have a laptop (am a newbee here, so i cant give more detail other than below link )

while trying to upgrade my ram from 4 to 16 GB, my board got short circuited.

now i have to buy a new processor for this. my repair guy says he find only i3 processor in market. my lap originally had i5.

Please tell me what to do now. can i go for i7 processor, or i5 or i3.

if you give me the right link for purchasing the same from amazon or flipkart or snapdeal or watever. i will be so great full to you..

Thanks for reply. but my question was not about ram upgrading.
while doing ram upgrading my motherboard got short and ICs burnt.
now am looking for a processor for my lap.
please suggest me right processor

As with 99% other notebooks, your cpu is soldered directly to board, so unless you have bga soldering machine at home you are out of luck. Only way how to make it work again is buying new board. Buying new cpu cost nearly as much as new board without risk of bad cpu replacement.
