I just got my RYZEN 7 1700 and I still have to get a mobo.
Which of these motherboards are better?

Solution

The K7 is the better motherboard -- more SATA ports, dual LAN, dual Audio Codec, more USB ports, more fan headers, and have more features.

I have posted my exoerience with Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming 5 here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3398021/aorus-x370-gaming-gaming.html

This applies to all motherboards - Intel and AMD alike : What you see is not what you get.

There are lots of ports, but as it happens a port being there and having a working, compatible device to go in that port and inserting it in does not mean it will work. Somehow, different things like PCIe lanes come into play. For example, if you put a PCIex4 device in a specific x16 port, all three PCIe x1 ports become unavailable. If you connect a SATA m.2 drive into main m.2 slot, SATA 3 port ( there are 8 ports, 0 to 7 ) becomes unavailable. If you manage to get a U.2 NVMe drive and connect it to its U.2 port, the main m.2 port becomes unavailable and so on. Lots of limitations are there.

Hope it helps someone in future.

You must always remember to check the User Manual of the motherboard you're thinking about buying (Google is your friend! ;)). Match up all of the proper recommended RAM from the QVL PDF and make sure it's available for a reasonable price from the vendor of your choice.

I thoroughly studied all of the prospective mobo manuals before I decided on one and I chose the Gigabyte GA-AX370 Gaming K7 because it had the best features I was looking for the money and it was also the only higher end mobo in stock when I needed it!

As the poster above me mentions, you have to be cognizant of what you're going to use it for and I was planning on using a Samsung EVO 960 M.2 NVMe SSD as my boot drive and I had to find out first of all if this was possible. Then I had to research how to get the drivers I needed for my specific OS which was Windows 7 Pro (very confusing and trial and error). I read the manual for the Gaming K7 and noticed that to get the most out of my M.2 NVMe SSD, I had to activate all 4 lanes and I noticed the manual indicated that I'd still be able to use all SATA slots, which is a win-win situation!
